Dr. Robert D. Benson
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
Bob has over forty-five years of exploration, development and management experience in the energy industry. He has a solid background in seismic data acquisition, processing and interpretation with significant Rocky Mountain and world-wide experience.
In 1987, he assumed a faculty position in the Geophysics Department at the Colorado School of Mines. As Co-Director of the Reservoir Characterization Project, he supervised and conducted research on reservoir characterization along with directing multidisciplinary teams of geologists, geophysicists, and petroleum engineers. Prior to Colorado School of Mines, he worked for Seismograph Service Corp., Texas Pacific Oil, Sun Exploration, Placid Oil Co., and as an exploration consultant.
Bob has a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and a Doctorate in Geophysics from Colorado School of Mines. He has published and presented his research in numerous technical papers and professional meetings. He is an active member of SEG, AAPG, SPE, AIPG, EAGE and several other professional organizations.
