John is a registered petroleum geologist and a certified petroleum geologist with over 40 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry with experience in reservoir analysis of oil and gas fields, acquisition and divestiture of producing properties, field development and exploration of both conventional, unconventional and enhanced oil recovery.He has experience with the geology of the Gulf Coast, Permian Basin, Rocky Mountains, California and the North Sea. His work experience includes working for Gulf R&D, Gulf Oil Corp., Conoco, Inc., ConocoPhillips, Wagner & Brown and Apache, in addition to working as a consulting geologist for several companies.
As the geologist involved with acquisitions and divestitures, he evaluated $250 million in acquisitions and $400 million in divestitures. As an exploration and operations geologist, he has added over 250 MMBOE of reserves.
John has a Bachelor of Science (1969) and a Masters of Science (1973) in Geology from the University of Southern Mississippi. He has an MBA (1984) in Management & Finance from Houston Baptist University. He has completed additional graduate work in Groundwater Geophysics from the University of Texas – Permian Basin (1995 – 1996). He has been a member of the AAPG since 1969 and the West Texas Geological Society since 1985. He is a Professional Geologist in the State of Texas.
